Pick up a Prescription

Printed prescriptions
You can pick your paper prescription from the Surgery or give consent for a chemist to collect the paper script on your behalf.

If you would like to know more about nominating a Pharmacy closer to you or you wish to change your nominated pharmacy  then come in to the surgery to discuss this.
Electronic prescriptions
By nominating a chemist, we can arrange to send all future prescriptions electronically to your preferred pharmacy.  This will men you do not need to come to the surgery to collect your script and you can attend the pharmacy to collect your medications without a delay.

Nearly all pharmacies are connected to the service, so you will be able to get your medicines from any pharmacy you choose – whether it’s near home, close to work or the shops.
You may not have to wait as long for your prescription items, as often there will be time to get your repeat prescription items ready before you arrive. If any of the medicines on your prescription are out of stock when the pharmacist receives your prescription, they can be ordered in ready for you.

This will not affect the way that you order / request prescriptions.

We ask you to allow a 48hr waiting time for your repeat prescriptions.

We never take repeat prescriptions over the phone.

If you need a repeat prescriptions we encourage you to use the prescription ordering direct service (POD). Click the do it online tab at the top of the screen for more information. If you prefer you can your request into reception.

Please do not come in demanding prescriptions to be done straight away as this cannot be done.

If you are going on holiday please make sure you give the doctor at least 48 hours to get the prescription ready.  Please have enough medication to last you for the holiday period. If you need to speak to a doctor about getting more medication for a holiday then please ring the surgery and leave the doctor a message.
